Ancient Egypt: The Regime and Social Activities Volume II CULTNAT’s Most Recent Publicatio

The BA Center for Documentation of Cultural and Natural Heritage (CULTNAT), sponsored by the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology, published the second volume of the book Ancient Egypt: The Regime and Social Activities by Dr. Mohamed Saleh, the Egyptian Museum’s former director and the center’s consultant for Pharaonic heritage. The book includes an introduction by Dr. Ismael Serageldin, the director of Bibliotheca Alexandrina (BA), and a preface by Dr. Fathy Saleh, CULTNAT’s honorary director.
On his part, Mohamed Farouk, CULTNAT’s director, stated that the center has collaborated with the Ministry of Antiquities to present a book of four volumes under the title Ancient Egypt: The History of Civilization among the publications of the Eternal Egypt Project. It has already published two volumes to present such ancient heritage in a simplified way unlike the common typical academic publications that encourages specialists and non-specialists to raise their awareness about Egyptian heritage. This is achieved through a large number of pictures that explain, interpret and highlight the many artistic and scientific innovations in this great heritage. He added that this volume is the first in the series to include a brief introduction about the history of ancient Egypt, as well as the most prominent characters who have contributed to the building of such civilization and preserved the elements of the Egyptian state and society.
Moreover, Dr. Mohamed Saleh comments on the scientific content of this part that it depicts a group of factors that have directly contributed to the creation of civilization on the land of Egypt. Such factors range from its geography, climate, natural resources, workers, Nile, flood, and acquired sciences to the way the state affairs were managed by the king, major officials, and regional rulers.
The book also depicts the activities of the people in the Egyptian society that was mostly constituted of farmers. It manifests the way the people used to play sports and care about entertaining themselves through music and dance. It also highlights the important role played by women in society, the various professions, the types of sports mastered at the time, the stance of women in society, the morals, behavior, immigration and foreigners.
